LCCC Basketball Players Oehlstrom and Rell Once Again Earn OCCAC Player of the Week Honors

Freshman guard Hannah Oehlstrom and sophomore guard Mike Rell were each selected for the third time this season as Ohio Community College Athletic Association Division III Players of the Week.

Oehlstrom reached double-digit scoring in a pair of contests last week; 16 against Cuyahoa and 13 versus Sinclair. She also hauled in four rebounds in each contest to go along with a weekly total of four assists and four steals. Hannah earns her third OCCAC Player of the Week recognition after staking claim to the crown in each of the first two weeks in her collegiate career (Nov. 6, Nov. 13). As a team, the Lady Commodores have now won the award eight times this season.

Sophomore guard Mike Rell averaged 16.0 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists and 1.0 steals per game in a split week for the Commodores. He opened the week by connecting on 7-of-8 field goals, including a pair of three-balls, and all four tosses from the charity stripe to score 20 points versus Cuyahoga, the No. 1 team in D-II. He tallied another dozen points accompanied by six rebounds and five assists in a victorious effort over Sinclair later in the week. The men’s team now owns seven OCCAC Player of the Week awards this season.
