Explore Careers in Welding

The 18-wheeled "Careers in Welding" trailer will be on display from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Wednesday, May 9 in the parking lot behind the welding lab.

The mobile exhibit, emblazoned with Weld-Ed, American Welding Society (AWS) and Lincoln Electric sponsor logos, is a nationwide educational outreach program that allows students and adults to get an exposure to the opportunities available in the welding field. The expandable trailer features 650 square feet of exhibit space, including interactive displays and virtual reality arc welding simulators.

The hands-on exhibit enables the public to learn about the various career paths in welding, presents educational scholarship information, showcases the different welding disciplines and enables visitors to handle a variety of welding related tools. The exhibit will share more information about welding as a well-paying, highly specialized field and the tremendous opportunities available to those seeking a career in welding.
