Equity Trust to Expand in LCCC’s Great Lakes Technology Park

{mosimage}Lorain County Community College’s Board of Trustees on June 28 approved the purchase of 8.2 acres in the Great Lakes Technology Park for Equity Trust Company’s new 30,000 square foot facility. This new building provides Equity Trust with the ability to remain in Lorain County and to keep pace with its expanding workforce and client base.

The new facility will house Equity Trust’s sales, marketing and client services. The facility represents the continued synergistic partnership between Lorain County Community College and Equity Trust Company and serves as a strong indication of our community’s evolving economy to nurture high-growth, high-tech industries and job opportunities. The new facility will accommodate 140 employees and will have the capacity to expand to accommodate up to 220 employees. Equity Trust’s existing facility in the Great Lakes Technology Park will continue to be utilized by the company.

Construction for the new facility is scheduled to begin next month with a completion date set for May 2008.

Lorain County Community College’s Great Lakes Technology Park is a cornerstone for economic growth in Lorain County. Located on 57 acres, adjacent to the College, this park is a catalyst for synergistic partnerships that enhance this region’s economy. Equity Trust’s relationship with LCCC and the Great Lakes Technology Park exemplifies the type of collaboration that can enhance economic development. Equity Trust Company has over 33 years of experience and is a recognized leader in providing custodial services for self-directed IRAs and small business retirement plans for close to 40,000 clients from all 50 states and 10 other countries. In 2003, Equity Trust located in the Great Lakes Technology Park on the campus of Lorain County Community College, allowing Equity Trust Company to easily attract interns and graduates of Lorain County Community College and help meet their growing workforce needs. In addition, existing Equity Trust employees are able to conveniently sharpen their skills and pursue advanced education through bachelor’s and master’s degree programs at LCCC’s University Partnership. For LCCC students, Equity Trust provides real-world experience through co-ops and internships as well as employment opportunities upon graduation.
