LCCC Professor Appointed to National Nursing Accrediting Commission

LCCC Professor Vivian M. Yates

Vivian M. Yates, Ph.D., a professor in the Allied Health and Nursing division at Lorain County Community College, was recently appointed as the Associate Director of Accreditation for the National League for Nursing Accreditation Commission (NLNAC).

Her appointment was effective mid-May. Yates, who has been a professor at LCCC for 20 years, has served as an accreditation site visitor for 13 years and an evaluation review panel member for five years for the NLNAC.

The commission does accreditation for all types of nursing programs (practical, associate degree, baccalaureate, masters and doctorate) in the United States, Puerto Rico, Guam, Samoa and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Yates, of Grafton, will continue teaching on a part-time basis in LCCC's Nursing program while handling accreditation duties for the NLNAC.
